Doc appt

Chase had his nine month doctor's appointment today.  I have honestly been worried about his lack of verbal development.  He really does not make many sounds other than laughing/crying and sometimes a few "ahhhhhhhhs."  No babbling. No consonants.  No waving or clapping.  Our pediatrician was not too concerned yet because he makes good eye contact and is hitting his other milestones - like crawling, climbing, pulling up, cruising, ect.

I just wish my sweet boy would start "talking."  I know you should never compare babies because they all develop so differently.  By nine months Ashlyn was clapping, waving and "chatting" up a storm.  But she was not crawling with her belly off of the ground.  They just all have their own pace.  It's just so hard not to worry sometimes.

Easter Morning

This was our Easter morning.  Christopher left bright and early for the Masters. Chase took a super long morning nap.  Ashlyn and I played with a few bowls of vinegar/food coloring, baking soda, and a medicine dropper.  It bubbles and fizzes when you mix them together and she LOVED it.
While we played this morning, Ash and I talked about Jesus and how he died to take away our sins and rose from the grave so that we may have eternal life.  There was no real connection between our playtime activity and the meaning of Easter.  Other than our conversation.

I told Ashlyn - "Jesus died and rose again for YOU."

She replied with - "MEEEEEEEEE??!!??!!??  Oh.  Ok. Got it."

So sweet and simple and true.  Happy Easter.

nine months

Chase turns nine months old on Saturday.  He is so much fun - and into everything.  Crawling and climbing and pulling up.

He loves to climb our stairs which means I have to make sure the door stays closed AND that his sweet big sister does not oh-so-kindly open it for him when I am not looking.

His eyes are still blue.  He has 6 teeth that all came in about 3 months ago.  And no more since then.

He smiles and laughs and giggles at Ashlyn all of the time.  I love seeing them interact together.  I was just thinking the other day that when Chase gets older, some of his little buddies will probably have crushes on his older sister.

Potty Progress

Fun weekend of potty training.  Of course, Ashlyn needed seven of her best friends gathered around to cheer her on first thing Saturday morning.
She has done great - only one accident all weekend.  Not because we did anything magical - I just think she was ready and really likes chocolate chips as a reward.  I did put her in a diaper at nap and bedtime.

We went to the lake after naps today.  I just carried her little potty to put on the boat so she could stay in her "big girl panties" :)
Could it be that I will only be buying one size of diapers from now on?  Oh joy, joy, joy.
